Kellyn
This past year I decided that I wanted to start taking pictures again... now if you know me at all you are probably thinking, "yeah right, like you could ever STOP taking pictures!!" its true I do take WAY too many pictures but I meant like artistic pictures not just pictures of me and my friends. Anyways, so I decided to register for a Photography class at COD! I was so excited!! & then I went to class & I found out that I didn't have the right kind of camera required for the class... I was SO bummed. So I went to the teacher & I told her that I would have to drop the class because I didn't have the right kind of camera. But she said that she wouldn't let me drop & told me that the school has cameras that I could borrow & use... & wow, I am SO happy that I didn't drop that class!! I made some pretty quality friends in that class who are so much fun to be around! We had a blast! It was the only class that I actually looked forward to everyday & I was actually sad once we were dismissed...

There was one friend in particular tho -due to a Karate class she talked me into taking with her this semester that I have become quite close with- her name is Kellyn & man, am I SO happy that we are friends!! It has been so much fun getting to know her these past several months. Taking Karate with her has been a BLAST & the class is such a joke. I'm pretty sure there hasn't been once class where I haven't burst out in laughter :) & the best thing abt the class is that one time when Kellyn was spending the night we decided to go to Michaels and buy iron on patches to put on our uniforms!! haha it was awesome. We decided to name ourselves Sugar & Spice Karate lol Our name is written on the back of our uniforms in hot pink letters and a hot pink flower as our logo- its great & we wrote our names on our belts. thankfully Master J thought it was funny and didn't punish us or anything... lol cause we were kind of scared. The people in our classes reactions were pretty funny too! Haha we have way too much fun!!

Anyways needless to say its so wonderful to have Kellyn as a friend- she makes me laugh & is really easy to talk to!! Every week we go to lunch on Tuesdays & Thursdays & I love it!! I am so thankful for the time we have been given to become close friends and to be there for each other ALWAYS!! :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLYN!!!

BFF
I love these girls...

Hannah(B), Me (F) & Danica(F)
The three of us have been friends for six years now!! We first met our freshman year in highschool when we carpooled together everyday. Since then we have had countless inside jokes, thousands of laughs, a million pictures taken, and a friendship that can never be broken!

We have been through a lot!! We have gone through times where we see each other almost everyday and other times where we wouldn't see each other for several months at a time but no matter what we have always remained close.
I am so blessed by these girls!! I love them SO much!!

a day to celebrate birth

Today is my oldest sister Chrissy's birthday!!! She is 29 yrs old!! She lives in Springfield, MO and has lived there for about 9-10 yrs now. I LOVE my sister!! We have SO much fun whenever we are together! For whatever reason when we are together we always seem to do stupid silly stuff..
For example, one time when I was visiting her we decided to make caramel apples! We were so excited about making them & after they were made we couldn't wait to eat them!! Until we tried to eat them.. haha my sister never put any water or milk in the caramel when we melted it so when the caramel dried on the apples it was completely rock solid- we could not even bite into them because they were so hard. We laughed pretty hard but then we had to throw all of the caramel apples away :(
I love talking to my sister!! We talk for hours at a time, usually on the phone but my favorite is in person!! When we talk we talk super fast & we laugh A LOT! Basically, we have decided that we are the same person just 9 yrs apart and now have different colored hair. More often than not, will one of us be talking about something we have been struggling with or a weird habit that we have and the other will be like, "me too!!". It is so nice to have an older sister who has gone through the same sorts of things that I have gone through and who can be there for me like no else can. She is full of so much wisdom and godly advice- I always feel better & encouraged after talking to her. No matter what I am going through or what I am dealing with, I always know that I can turn to her and she will be there for me. She comforts me when I am sad, calms me when I am mad, laughs with me when I am glad, and corrects me when I am bad (I'm poet & I didn't even know it!) It has been such a blessing to have her as not only my sister but one of my closest & best friends.
Chrissy has always been one of my role models in life. Naturally, as I being the youngest and she the oldest- I have spent most my life trying to be just like Chrissy! Growing up, I wanted to dress like her, do my hair like her, eat like her ( I blame her for me being a picky eater), I just always wanted to be with her! Me & my sister Sarah would even sleep on her floor at night instead of sleeping in our bed cause we wanted to sleep in the same room as her. I also remember I used to sit in her room after school and listen to her phone conversations with her friends when she was in Jr. High and then bring up the topics that she had discussed at the dinner table... oops!! :)
Even now, tho my reasons for wanting to be like her have matured, the desire is still the same. I admire my sister so much! She is such a wonderful woman of God! She has an unbelieveable amount of strength and has used the circumstances that have occurred in her life both good and bad to glorify and bring praises to God! She has such a heart and passion for missions & for helping people in need. Also, her love for prayer & worship has impacted my life in such mighty and powerful ways! I respect her so much for the godly woman that she has become! She will always be someone I look up to- ALWAYS.
I will conclude with one last story... last year I received a phone call from Chrissy saying that she was FINALLY moving back home!! I was SO incredibly excited!!! She came home with a U-haul full of her stuff and we moved everything into her room. Her bed, furniture, clothes, art work, and other personal belongings had all been carefully placed within her room. Well, a couple months later I received yet another phone call from Chrissy but this time she had called to say that God didn't want her to move home- He had told her to stay. I was SO disappointed!! I immediately broke down in tears... & I began to question, "why God? why would you do this to me??" My dad heard me crying upstairs (it seriously was the hardest I have probably ever cried) and came to see what was the matter. While I was telling my dad what I had just heard, I all of sudden felt a HUGE sense of peace come over me and I was able to stop crying all together and explain to my dad that God had told Chrissy that it was not time to move home & that He wanted her in Springfield. Months after she was supposed to have moved home it was obvious why God had kept her there & He has been using her in great & mighty ways ever since. But I still never understood why I had to go through that... but this past Spring Break I spent the weekend with Chrissy and God spoke to me- He called me to do missions and He showed me that if Chrissy had moved home it would be that much more harder for me to be willing and obedient to leave & go overseas... God has a plan and purpose for EVERYTHING.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISSY!!! I love you!!!

Outreach
Every Tuesday I used to go to what my church calls Outreach. Its a homework help program with inner city kids who live in Aurora. These families live in government owned apartments because they are unable to afford to live anywhere else. I LOVED IT!!! I have been going since my freshman year in high school & I just recently had to stop going because of my new nannying job. Saying good-bye was one of the hardest things I have ever done!
But today I had the day off of work!! so I was able to go and visit all of my friends!! :) there are two girls in particular that I worked with & had grown close to & their names are Tiara & Temiera. They both are in 5th grade and I love being around them!! They make me laugh.
Today I wanted to surprise them so I went straight up to the 5th grade room where we always did their homework & I decided to just wait for them in there. As I was waiting, I was looking out the window and I saw them both walking towards the building... I got so excited to see them that I quickly opened the window & called out their names. They looked up at the window & I waved to them with such excitement!! They both were like "ANGELA???" I nodded my head & smiled at them & without a thought they both sprinted into the building, up the stairs, and into my arms!! :) it was the biggest hug I have received in a long time!! (i LOVE hugs!!) oh my goodness it was SO good to see them again!! We had so much fun talking and laughing & I made them do flashcards with me just for old times sake and we had a lot of fun. It was wonderful. I really hope there will be more time like today where I can go visit them! God has blessed me SO much by allowing me to be a part of their lives!
Just look at them!! I mean, really? How could I NOT love these girls!!

the funnies
I have made a habit of reading the Comics in the newspaper.. sadly that is the ONLY thing I read in the newspaper but I LOVE the jokes section!! :) so I thought I would share some of them from this weeks with you!!
what is a teacher's favorite kind of music??
CLASSical!!
Why did the boy eat his homework??
His teacher said it would be a piece of cake
What food is too scared to be eaten?

How do you make a tissue dance?
You put a little boogie in it!

OCD
ummm I have a problem.. its called OCD
Really when you think of it, I am sure we all have things that we are semi-OCD about and my thing is numbers...
take this blog post for example. before this one I had only 4 posts on my wall & that REALLY bugged me!! so much so that I had to write this one to make it an even 5.
kind of ridiculous? yes! and its taking over my life!!
but unfortunately its not just numbers, I'm OCD abt other things as well...
somebody please help me...

kind of ridiculous? yes! and its taking over my life!!
- Every morning, if I don't get out of bed exactly when my alarm goes off- I will lay in bed & wait until it is 6:05, 6:08, 6:10, & so on..
- Same thing when I leave the house its got to be an even 5 or 0
- Also with the volume, whether it be in the car or on the TV its got to be 15, 18, 20..
- While in my car I am constantly looking at my odometer trying to figure out number patterns and anxiously waiting for it to be 95259 or 95295
- On facebook, the number of pictures I am tagged in needs to be a number pattern like 363 or an even 5 or 0 or occasionally I am OK with an even number like 2 or 8
- When I work out and I am running on the treadmill again it has to be either 4 or 4.2 or 4.5...
but unfortunately its not just numbers, I'm OCD abt other things as well...
- when I eat Skittles or M&Ms I organize them by color and if there is an odd number of one color I eat one to make it even.
- when making a PB&J both the peanut butter and the jelly have to be evenly spread to all the edges of the bread
- same with my bagels- the cream cheese/peanut butter has to be completely covering the bagel & have no spread marks
- DVDs, movies, books on a shelf have to be all facing upright and be evenly across (none pushed way in & others sticking out)
- CDs or DVDs in a case have to be straight with the titles on the top
somebody please help me...
the ugly duckling
Right outside my house there is a duck who has decided to make our front yard her new home & has placed her nest there with 10 little duck eggs inside!!
take a look!

I wonder what it would be like to be inside of an egg..
would it be cozy? warm? comfortable? annoying? scrunched? claustrophobic-y? lonely? fun? relaxing? stressful? smelly? cold? itchy? boring? exciting?
I mean do you think maybe the little duckling sometime think to themselves, "man, i wish i could go back to being in my egg" or are they more like, "whew!! im SO glad to be out of that thing!!"
hmm... I dont know
what do you think??

Peoria: my second home
Peoria, IL has always held a special place in my heart- for that is where my mom's side of the family lives!! I LOVE the Ricca family... my mom was the third of 9 children.. yes I said 9 lol & now we have multiplied to a family of 50+ people. its kind of insane at times when we are all together but we NEVER have a dull moment. As a family we go to Peoria A LOT!! one year I counted how many times we went and it turned out to be at least 20 times.. meaning that year I spent 5 days straight in the car driving to Peoria- craziness I tell ya.
Anyways yesterday we drove our oh so familiar drive of 2 1/2 hrs down to Peoria. We went down to celebrate my Grandma's 79th birthday!! It was a lot of fun. We all met at a restaurant called Fairview Farms and the food was quite delicious!! I sat at a table with my cousins & we called it the "older" kids table lol not to be confused with the kids table of course... it was so fun being able to sit and talked to my cousins- they make me laugh. My cousin Jon, who was sitting next to me, has for years now called me "hey you" or just "you" because he used to always confuse me with my sister Sarah and call me her name instead of mine and figured just "hey you" would be easier.. lol anyways he was giving me a hard time because I wasn't eating a corn fritter so I finally tried one & OH man was it GOOD!!! I am so glad I tried it!! We also had fried chicken, rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, & then some more corn fritters... yum yum!!
After we were all done with our food we left the restaurant and went to my Aunt Sue's house for cake & ice cream!! I am not usually much of a cake person but this time they had my all time FAVORITE cake: Angel Food cake with homemade frosting!! it was really good & it made me happy :) We stayed at my aunts for a few hours while all the uncles were outside or in the family room, the aunts were all sitting at the kitchen tabling talking and planning the next wedding shower and the cousins & I were in the living room talking and laughing and occasionally listening to everyone else's conversations :)
Sadly, the time came when we had to return home... the ride home was long and fun and needless to say I was pretty tired when we got home... but now I cant wait to go back.

babysitting
Babysitting... this simply has to be THE best job ever!! ..well for me at least. I mean really, I am currently getting paid to sit here on the computer and waste time online while the kids are sleeping. but even when the kids are awake I still LOVE this job!! Tonight, I played with two of the cutest kids Danny & Audrey and we basically just ran around the house, played downstairs, kicked the soccer ball, played with a balloon, laughed, talked, read books, and then I put them to bed!
It was so fun to watch Audrey (1 yr old) follow & and copy EVERYTHING her brother Danny (3 yr old) was doing.. running around, spinning in circles, hitting the balloon, playing with the ball, no matter what it was she wanted to do it too. Reminded me of when I was younger & how I always wanted to do the same things as my older siblings. I also enjoyed seeing how much joy and excitement the kids had in doing such simple things. I would hit the balloon at Danny and he would just laugh and laugh- haha I love it when kids laugh. Also, Audrey spent almost 30 minutes just throwing this small ping-pong ball around the house and then chasing it, picking it up, & throwing it again. I had to lay down on the floor and reach under the couch and the TV stand to get the ball probably close to 50 times... lol
I love kids. they are so much fun & I am so blessed to have a job where I can just hang out & play with them & then get paid for it.
